After reading this book, I can say definitely there are parts of history that are told untrue. The Civil War is one of those parts. From what I’ve gathered while reading this book is the the North controlled the narrative and story of the war. They lied, used propaganda, and alienated the south for their personal gain. I also realize that ultimately the Civil War was not fought over slavery. In the end, the Civil War was the last attempt at revolution against large established government. I think that all people should read this book to fully understand and comprehend the true signigance of the Civil War. Not a war on slavery, but a call for freedom.
