The South was Right! Report #2

Picking up where we left off, the book continues to discuss the lies of the North. It discusses the Northern Myth that the South went into battle with the North to defend slavery and keep it legal. This, according to the book, is a lie created by the North. The book explains that much of the south was made up of poor white southerners who could not afford slaves, rather the war was fought over defending away of life. If slaver was the only of the Civil War, then the war would have been much quicker as only a small amount of rich men would have fought. If the war was only about slavery, then why did the majority of the southern citizens fight along side blacks in the confederate army.

Personal Opinion:

As of now, I have read two books talking about the crimes of the North. I have read probably 15 about the crimes of the South. I have not gotten as close to as much information from these two books as from the others. The information is clear, cohesive and presented in a clean format. Additionally, these books have really given me the opportunity to think about both sides and what seems to me is that the South was fighting for more than just slaves. I look forward to reading the rest.
