More had revolutionary ideas in his book. Hew had no way around it, and so he made the book satire to draw away attention from his ideas. He made the point Ludacris and absurd and made fun of the things readers were talking about at the time. What he did was quite smart and helped keep the church off his back. At the time, like many dictators, the chinch was quite controlling of the media that circulated. They would persecutor and go after anybody with an opinion other than there own.
