“Did this literature encourage Christians to exercise political leadership?”

While much of Christian literature is direct in what is and what isn’t Christian. However many Christians are still left with a pondering Question, Should Christians be political? During medieval times, All Christians literature was Catholic. Catholicism was the first version of Christianity. We know during this time, that Christianity has had sovereignty. The Bible’s rules are our rules. Plain and Simple. Medieval Law followed the laws of Christ and God. We still are using the laws of God today. This can be seen like when someone steals. Stealing is a sin in the eyes of God, and so if someone steals, they will be punished. Back then Crimes were not even seen as crimes. They were seen Sins and hurting the kingdom in which God created. While at a glance this seems like this judicial system would work, there were many holes left unfilled. If anything they were dug deeper.

Because of the confusing nature of the law system, it became hard for many Christians to abide by the law, and by the law of God. Many Christians viewed to be impossible. Of course in today’s world, almost all of our laws are based off of religion. Because of these questions that were being asked, there had to be a reform of the church. However, after the reform, many questions started to be asked. Is it Lawful for a church and state to work together. Is Catholicism have a place in the law. Do Christians have a place in politics. During the time of this problem, not many people knew how to read or write. This caused hymns to be created. Hymns were either typically either sung or chanted by large crowds, however education of Christianity was spread through voice. Many of these Hymns didn’t mean much and were just religious. However, in one him it discusses the fact that God Is sovereign and controls everything we do.

Because of that statement it sparked questions, as stated previously. However this time they were answered. People started realizing that God’s Laws come first. They realized that as long as thy abide by Gods Laws, and politics, then they should be fine. This has lots of significance. Before this Christians were afraid to speak their mind about States laws, as they di not want to anger God. Because of these hymns, I believe it did in fact give the okay for Christians to get into politics. I believe that without these Hymns, God and State would still be clashing. Throughout all of time, their has been a argument between religion and power, but I do believe this helped pave the way for no longer fighting between church and state.

As stated previously, God and man has clashed. State and Church were the battle field. People in power have always feared religion. They have fear that their power can be taken away. This was seen in the Bible. They killed Jesus because he was more powerful than them. However, because of these hymns, I think it helped the way for peace between church and state. If Christians could have a say, then many more people will have a say. Because Christians could get into politics, and wider door was open for all people.
