“Why were the Sadducees and the apostles unable to find a way to reconcile their rival opinions?”

The two groups had a very conflicting opinions. This was mainly due to the fact that the apostles believed in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Sadducees did not believe in the story of Jesus Resurrecting from the dead, and returning to the kingdom of heaven. In fact, the Sadducees were Jewish, and did not believe in Jesus at all. They followed the ancient traditions of religion. Like Jesus Christ, the apostles believed in something different than tradition and this caused a divide. They worshiped the same god, however, Jesus Christ was an extension of God in a way. The Jewish religion taught ritual and customs that have been passed down through the generations. Christ taught from the heart. He showed people that God loved them, and they did not need to fear him. He taught love. He taught that you should respect God, and God will love unconditionally. The Leaders of Israel Agreed with things like this, but he was breaking up common thought and customs.

As stated Previously, Jesus Christ taught of love and taught religion from the heart. This completely broke up all sort of tradition by the leaders of Israel and the Sadducees with Jesus Christ teaching of God, he had a group of followers called the apostles. When Jesus was crucified, the leaders of Israel were part of the blame, they wanted him gone and did help with it. The apostles called the Sadducees out on this many times. They made these claims in public for people to hear. This caused many people in power at the time to fully resent the apostles and what they were saying. As the apostles carried on Christs legacy, they quickly abandoned most of the rituals and traditions of old religion. They focused on repenting from sin, and converting the heart towards God. They believed in being a good moral person. They believed in respecting and loving God. Realizing that God is kind and generous was a main fundamental of Christianity.

This complete separation from the Leaders of Israel caused plenty of conflict, as mentioned before. As the region grew larger, people started converting getting baptized. The mass group of people who followed Judaism had converted to Christianity. This was causing many of the large leaders of religion to lose their control and power over the people. The Sadducees worked very hard to keep the apostles quiet. However, as we see today, it did not Work.

They were not able to reconcile their differences because of how the two groups taught religion. One of them followed Jewish tradition and ritual, while the other one completely abandoned that ritual and taught their religion through the heart, They taught about God’s love and his kingdom of heaven for being for those who love god back. They got rid of what Judaism was. They believed in baptism and the cleansing of the heart and soul for heaven.
