He believed that the people should run the economy, and it should consist of people buying and selling as they please. He believed that with the government intervention, it would ruin the economy, and people would not want to buy or sell.
What was the basic message of the Utopian socialists? The Utopian socialist believed in a controlled society. They wanted everything being controlled by the government. The markets and economy should have the most government intervention as possible. This would force people to buy one product from one company. This would destroy the economy and the peoples buying power.
