  • Describe the main ideas we associate with the Enlightenment. The main ideas of Enlightenment were about rational thinking and science. The main thinkers of the time believed we must keep moving forward and away from the past to continue to to do better, They also believed in separation of government, and people having natural human rights. Most importantly it was a early creation of the scientific method.
  • Recent historians of science have revisited the traditional version of the Scientific Revolution and have disputed the standard claim that religion and science were locked in a titanic struggle. What is some of the evidence these scholars have brought forth? Despite what many people think, science and religion did not fight with each other. In fact, the science at the time did not try to disprove Christianity. In religion was truly a barrier in the way, we would have not advanced as far as we have with our programs and studies.
  • Explain the significance of the person you read about for Lesson 48 in 100 words. William Harvey was born in the year 1578. to be exact April 1st. He went to school and graduated from Cambridge University. He became one of the first real important people in the Enlightenment move. He was a brilliant man that figured out blood circulation. He discovered that blood gets pumped through the human body and through the heart. This was proven correct by surgeons and doctors. Later on in his life, he would go on to publish works on reproduction and embryology. This later became an important blueprint in the studies of these fields later on. In his life, he helped many people and was an important man for the development of human sciences. Without him, the world of science would have developed much slower.
