Business 2 10

Comparing the franchise model against going independent and “doing your own thing.”

Franchise models vs doing your own thing is a tricky subject. Both of which will cost money out of your pocket. Doing your own thing is great for people who like to follow their own path and not follow others. Opening a franchise is for people who like things to be cookie cutter and like things done by the book. Both of these options are good and equal in their own way. For example opening a franchise to McDonalds, can cost over half a million dollars, this will come out of your pocket, and will be gone very quickly. However opening a business yourself purchases can be spread out as you are in control. Opening your own business can also be rewarding, but could be much more expensive. The risk vs reward is different for each. If you open a McDonalds, everyone knows that name, and they will eat their, you will make your money back. However opening a stand alone diner not everybody knows about is risky, maybe you wont get as many customers. Each of these businesses have pros and cons, some similar some different. Cost of materials may be different as well, advertisements, and how many employees are big problems in the world today. Not many people want to work an do not want to put in effort. Finding employees could take a long time and money will not come in for a while. Their is different types of insurance, and who will pay for the insurance, and then you have to decide if the employees get the same insurance. Each model has different problems and require different solutions. The decision is up to the person.
