If I pay for 100% of my college education, would I be better off if my parents will give me a college graduation present: half of the money they presently plan to pay for my college costs
If I Pay for 100% of my college education, depending on how much it cost me, I could be better off with paying the entire thing myself, and then having my parents give me a graduation gift of half of what they saved. To me, I win both ways. Of course, paying for college is very expensive and very difficult for a young adult, but something I would like to challenge myself with. If I have my college paid in full, then I am receiving extra money from my parents . To me, this is a win win situation. This is also a win for my parents. If they were planning on spending all of that money on college, they would only have to pay half of what they were planning to spend. That means they would have a surplus of money to use for themselves. However, paying for college at full as an young man is a daunting task. Where am I going to get the money to pay? Obviously, I would either need a high paying job, or start my own company, as discussed in the lectures from RPC lectures. Both of which I would want to do. By doing these things, I would also be ready and prepared for college. In the real world, money is not just handed out, so I would certainly be ready the world around me. Lastly, taking half of the college money as a gift, would surely help me in the world today. An adult starting with $15,000 is definitely a help to them, and a great way to get started in the world today.
