  1. How were the ideas of Marsilius of Padua evident in Louis of Bavaria’s conflict with Pope John XXII? Marsilius strongly believed the church should’ve had less power than the state. He wanted church below state. He also strongly believed that the state could take advantage over the church, and use it to their advantage. He also wanted somebody higher than the pope, to restrict him, and keep control over him. Louis used these ideas and used them to fuel the conflict with him and the pope. He was later excommunicated, and those ideas were declared ridiculous by the pope
  2. What can we say about the condition of the Catholic Church on the eve of the Protestant Reformation? The church had been corrupted. The morals of those in charge were not good. Fewer and fewer people started going to church

Due to a marriage, the two biggest kingdoms became combined. Then invading a Muslim city. The leaders of the city stopped paying Isabella and Ferdinand. This caused a war. They invaded and won the fight. They gave religious freedom to the citizens of Grananda, the city they invaded. The last step was starting the Spanish inquisition, With the Jews and Muslims that wouldn’t convert to Christianity, The Jews were booted out of Spain, and the Muslims had the mosques converted to churches, and their holy books destroyed by fire.
