Based on the video lessons and your reading, what were the reasons behind the conflicts between the emperors and the popes during this period
Based on the video lessons, and what I had read so far, their were conflicts between the popes and the emperors of the time. Christianity and Catholicism became very popular during the 11th and 12th centuries. This caused many popes to rise to power. With more and more followers to the religion of Christianity, many emperors felt their power threatened and there many disputes, political struggles and economic quarreling. One of the biggest being who appointed important church officials. This caused a lot of fighting over the 2 groups. To this day it is one of the biggest issues that they have had.
