1.)Why was the rise of the medieval towns significant? The rise of medieval towns was significant because the advances created. The rise can be contributed to advances in farming and the economy. Farmers found better ways to grow crops and have them be sustainable on a higher level. This allowed for more reproduction because of a sustainable food source, causing the population to grow and towns to be formed. And with more and more farmers, there began to be an excess of food and they were able to sell their crops to other towns across the land.

2.) How can we account for Western Europe’s sustained economic success? Economic success can be contributed to a few things. One of them being the rise of agriculture. With a sustained food source eventually there will be extra, and that is what happened. Towns and villages could sell food all over and boost the economy greatly. There were also sales is precious goods, and construction materials.
