History 100

  1.  Describe feudalism and Manorialism. Feudalism was the idea of people working for land and protection. These people working are called surfs. They essentially would have worked for king, and in return the king gave them land to live on, and protection against invaders and other types of attacks. Feudalism basically started because the kings of Europe could not protect their people, so they went to other kings. Manorialism is similar in the fact that there is a powerful ruler ruling people. He who owned the manor had lots of authority to the people who also lived in the manor and worked on the estate.
  2. What changes did William the Conqueror introduce in England. He gave land to the Norman Nobles, and he did this by taking land form other English nobles. He also kept some land just for him self to grow his empire and wealth. William also started feudalism in England when people came to him for protection against the Norsemen.
