Why did Tiberius Gracchus attract so much suspicion from the Roman Senate?Usually in Ancient Rome, when someone had a project, they brought it in front of the Roman Senate. The Senate would then look over the project, and from there decided whether to approve it or not. This is customary, and otherwise was looked down upon with mistrust. So when Tiberius did not go to the Roman Senate to pitch and approve his projects; there was suspicion of what he was up to. Instead He decided to go to another council that would approve his projects. As previously stated, the Senate did not like this approach, and refused to give the funding.
