Ancient Greece is one of the most important parts of Western CIvilaization. There were many contributions that the Greeks gave, All of which benfit society today. And with out the ancient greeks we would still be using abritary reasoning for alsmost everything. Modern science would fall apart, aand we would truly not understand much about the world around us.
Then first contribution to the Modern world and Western Civilization is Philosophy and Science. They used the Egyptians and other civilizations ideas for their society. The Greeks were based around ideas of logic and reasoning. They also sought out the answer that made the most sense. They also largely contributed to the ideas of math and science. They largely contributed to the ideas of geometry. Without them modern math would not exist.
There were also huge contributions to Art and Literature. They modernized literature and gave us theatre today.
Pre Socratic is also very important because that is when they didn’t ask moral questions like how people should live, instead they tried to answer everything with human reason. They were the most important people because they were the worlds first philosphers.
These two societies were very important because of the contributions they gave Western Civilization, without them there would be no modern philosophy.
